Thank you for inviting [Company Name] to work on [Client Name]'s brand. This proposal covers what we heard, how we'll get from strategy to finished identity, what you'll receive, and three packages to choose from.

What We Heard

[Summarize the brief in the client's words, for example: the company has outgrown a logo made at founding, is moving upmarket, and needs an identity that feels credible to enterprise buyers while keeping its warmth.]

How We Work

1. Discovery and strategy. A workshop with your team, a review of your market and competitors, and interviews with a few customers. We agree on positioning, personality, and audience in a short strategy brief before any design begins.

2. Concept directions. We present distinct creative directions, each with a logo, color, type, and a few applications that show how it would live in the world. You choose one to develop.

3. Refinement. We refine the chosen direction over two rounds of feedback, testing it at every size and in every place it needs to work.

4. Guidelines and handoff. We deliver the final files and a guidelines document so your team, printers, and partners use the brand consistently.

Timeline

Most identities take eight to ten weeks from kickoff: two weeks for discovery and strategy, three for concept directions, and three to five for refinement and guidelines. We'll confirm dates at kickoff, which can be scheduled within two weeks of your signed approval.

What We Need From You

  • One decision-maker who gives consolidated feedback at each stage
  • Feedback within five business days of each presentation, so the schedule holds
  • Access to customers or partners for the discovery interviews

Revisions

Two rounds of refinement are included for the chosen direction. A round is one set of consolidated feedback. Further rounds, or a new direction after one has been chosen, are billed at $150 per hour with your approval first.

Ownership and Licensing

Once the project is paid in full, [Client Name] owns the final logo and identity created for it, including the right to register them as trademarks. Concepts that weren't chosen remain ours. Fonts and any stock imagery are licensed from their makers under their own terms, and we'll tell you about any licenses you need to buy. We may show the finished work in our portfolio once it's public.

Payment Terms

50% of the selected package is due on signing to reserve your place in our schedule, 25% when you choose a concept direction, and 25% on delivery of the final files. Invoices are due within 15 days.

Acceptance

Frequently asked questions

What should a branding proposal include?

The client's goals and audience, your process from discovery to final files, how many concept directions and revision rounds are included, the deliverables, the timeline, the fees, and who owns the final work.

How many logo concepts should a proposal include?

Two or three distinct directions is common. More than that tends to dilute the thinking, and fewer leaves the client without a real choice. This template offers two or three, depending on the package.

Is this brand identity proposal template free?

Yes. Read and copy the full text on this page, or edit it online and see it as your client will. When it's ready, start a free Clientary trial to send it or download it as a PDF.

Has a lawyer reviewed this template?

No. It's a general starting point written by Clientary, not legal advice, and it hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer for your situation or the laws where you and your client work. Have your own counsel review it before you use or sign it.
